BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 5. The 5G network in Kazakhstan may become available in 2024, the Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Orazbek said at the international forum "Digital Kazakhstan" in Nur-Sultan, Trend reports.
According to him, the 5G technology is now in pilot mode locally deployed in several cities of Kazakhstan.
"This year we will hold an auction and there will be commitments to cover several locations. 5G now, in the current version, doesn't allow to fully cover all of the settlements. Therefore, the coverage will be by location, where the largest number of users are located - malls, parks, etc. We are currently working with operators on the issue of locations," Orazbek said.
