BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Azerbaijan’s Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport plans to build a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) in the service areas and six communication service centers this year to expand the coverage of broadband access services in Baku and suburban settlements, the ministry’s press service told Trend.
According to the press service, by the end of the year, the company plans to build a GPON with a capacity of 200,000 port splitters.
"From January through July, Baktelecom completed the construction of a GPON for 121,000 port splitters," added the press service.
