BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 30. This week it was noted that work is underway in Azerbbaijan to form a legal framework for the expanded application of new security standards, Trend reports.

Azerbaijan is actively applying European cyber security standards and has already achieved great success in this area. Also, Azerbaijan improves its position in global cyber security ratings every year.

Furthemore, it was noted that about 148.13 million malicious links in the first quarter of 2023 were detected on the AzStateNet (Azerbaijan State Network). Around 906,600 malicious links were blocked by means of a centralized antivirus system, and among them 29,700 links contained infected documents.

Moreover, about 8 million emails were processed through a centralized mail system created for government agencies, of which over 6.9 million were delivered to recipients, and the rest were blocked due to malicious links.

Also, it was noted this week that Azercosmos OJSC (Open Joint-Stock Company) is negotiating with world-famous satellite manufacturers to launch a new Azerbaijani satellite into orbit. The parameters that customers in the field of satellite services are interested in, such as innovation, cost, support, and others, are constantly changing and being updated. Furthemore, it was mentioned that the economic and non-economic benefits that Azerbaijan may receive from a new satellite project in the future are being carefully studied. The negotiations process will continue until the most appropriate choice for Azerbaijan is made.

Furthemore, this week it became known that about 80 percent of Azerbaijan's technological startup projects have had the opportunity to enter global markets. It was noted that it is necessary to conduct a proper assessment of both domestic and foreign markets and its audience in order to achieve the goal of entering global markets, as well as conduct appropriate research.

It was also noted this week that Azerbaijan has great prospects for the development of the digital and startup ecosystem in the sectors of education, medicine, economy, ecology, and social sector. From the point of view of statistics, projects in the fields of education, tourism and the social sector prevail in Azerbaijan. Recent trends also show an increase in the number of projects in the fields of technology, in particular financial technologies.
