1,6 Computers Fall on to Each 100 Users in Azerbaijan

Mingachevir Plant Kur of Azerbaijan has produced 16,000 computers since September 2005, which have been delivered to the educational institutions. The Director of the Plant, Rizvan Osmanov, informed Trend that 1,6 computers fall on to each 100 users in Azerbaijan. Kur Plant won the bid within the program Providing schools of general education with information and telecommunication technologies. The key part of the products is delivered to the educational institutions. The Plant produces computers through conveyer method from spare parts delivered from Thailand, Singapore, China and Malaysia.

According to the statistical data, the number of the computers in Azerbaijan equal 135,900. Presently the production capacity of Kur Plant equals to 140 computers per day.

It is planned at allocate additional investments for the enterprise to increase the production volume. Presently Kur Plant has the certificates fro ISO 9001-2000 and certificate from the European Fund for Quality Management. Kur Plant, which was constructed in 2004 and completed in May 2005, functions as joint venture. 51% of the shares of the Plant belong to State, 36% to local Sinam and 13% to individual persons.

In addition to the computer equipment, the enterprise produces stationary telephones. Presently the number of the employees of the Plant equals to 75 and is expected to be rise to 100.
