Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend S. Babayeva / The income of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and IT made up AZN 57,365,800 in January-April; the forecasted amount was AZN 49,810,100.
Expenditure for services provided to the public comprised AZN 20,430,400; the amount forecasted was AZN 19,454,600. These figures have increased by 3% and 10% respectively, compared to the same period of 2006.
In January-April, the Ministry invested AZN 9,588,200 into the development of IT in the country. The funds were used for reconstruction of communication cables and construction of inter-city fibre-optic highways.
The ministry intends to invest AZN 29mln in 2007. In 2006, investment made by state communications organizations amounted to AZN 42mln, whilst the total amount of funds invested into IT amounted to AZN 211.6mln (3.5% of funds invested into the economy of Azerbaijan).
