Ministry: Number of Belarus tourists visiting Turkey down

In July 2018, 44,606 Belarus tourists visited Turkey, which is 10.17 percent less compared to July 2017, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend on Sept. 3.

Belarus citizens accounted for 0.79 percent of the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in July 2018 compared to 0.98 percent in July 2017.

The ministry stressed that the share of Belarus citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in July 2018 accounted for 0.79 percent.

Some 142,067 tourists from Belarus visited Turkey in January-July 2018, which is 8.04 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

The share of Belarus citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in January-July 2018 accounted for 0.66 percent.

The ministry noted that 5,671,801 tourists visited Turkey in July 2018, which is 11.74 percent more than in the same period of 2017.

Some 761,278 tourists from Germany, 354,851 - from the UK, 218,685 - from the Netherlands and 199,684 tourists from Ukraine visited Turkey in July 2018, and 4,142,303 tourists who visited Turkey in July 2018, fall to the share of other countries.

During the above-mentioned period, 2,103,421 tourists, accounting for 37.09 percent of the total number of tourists, visited the Turkish province of Antalya.

In July 2018, 1,502,397 tourists, accounting for 26.49 percent of the total number of tourists, visited Istanbul.

As of January-July 2018, 21,639,802 tourists visited Turkey, which is 24.9 percent more than in January-July 2017.
