Uzbekistan’s Chimgan ski resort took the sixth place in the list of the most popular ski tours among Russians in the CIS countries for the Winter 2019 season, the Russian analytical agency TurStat said.
According to TurStat, guests will spend in average seven days at the Uzbek resort. Average tourist budget in Chimgan will be up to $70 per day. The cheapest winter holiday destinations will be Belarusian Silichi and Logoisk resorts.
The rating is based on the results of analysis of tourist trips in the Winter of 2018.
Amirsoy Mountain Resort - the first ski resort in Uzbekistan - will open on Dec. 15, 2018 in Chimgan.
The resort will occupy an area of about 900 hectares in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. The project provides for creation of a network of snow-covered ski slopes of varying degrees of complexity with a total length of about 21.3 kilometers, seven cable cars, a snowboard park, a sports school, residential buildings and other resort infrastructure. The total cost of the project is over 100 million euros.
