In the past period of a year and half (March 21, 2018 - Sept. 22, 2019), 7.09 million tourists visited Iran's Ardabil province, located in the country's north-west, Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Nadir Fallahi said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Fallahi noted that the number of the foreign tourists reached 1.38 million in the reported period.
During the reported period, 50 new hotels were commissioned in the province, he added.
According to him, the tourism sector of the province employs 2,320 people.
