BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Some 95,800 foreigners visited Azerbaijan in March 2022, which is 112 percent more than in the same period 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency.
According to the agency, 246,277 foreign citizens visited Azerbaijan, in 1Q2022, which is 110 percent more than in the same period last year (117,227).
The top 10 countries by the number of foreigners who visited Azerbaijan in March 2022 included Turkey (24,244), Russia (17,824), Iran (15,638), Georgia (5,483), Ukraine (5,327), Pakistan (4,001) , UAE (3,632), Saudi Arabia (2,683), India (1,556) and Kazakhstan (1,512).
According to the agency, the number of visitors to Azerbaijan from Pakistan in March 2022 increased by 46.4 percent compared to the same month in 2019 - up to 4,001 people.
The number of visitors from Saudi Arabia who visited Azerbaijan in 1Q2022 increased by 20.4 percent compared to the same period in 2019 (6,437) - up to 7,751.
