Tariffs for cargo transportation in Kazakhstan increase

Inflation rate in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.4 percent in 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Growth of consumer prices in Kazakhstan amounted to 5.4 percent during the reporting year.

Increase of prices of industrial manufacturers amounted to 1.4 percent, whereas goods of industrial purpose increased by 5.5 percent.

Prices in construction increased insignificantly, i.e by 1.6 percent following the end of 2019, whereas agricultural goods prices increased by 15.9 percent.

At the same time, tariffs for cargo transport via all types of vehicles, as well as tariffs for postal and courier services for legal entities increased in price by 3 percent each.

In turn, tariffs for communication services for legal entities increased in price by 1.7 percent. Wholesale prices also increased by 3.8 percent during the reporting year.

As noted by Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Askar Mamin on Jan. 10 Kazakhstan’s GDP growth amounted to 4.5 percent in 2019. Main drivers of economic growth were construction transport, trade and communications.

Thus, Mamin said, construction growth was 12.9 percent, trade was 7.6 percent, communications were 5.2 percent, transport was 5.1 percent, processing industry was 3.7 percent.

Actual income of country’s residents increased by 5.5 percent, investments into country’s fixed capital increased by 8.5 percent, trade turnover was $97 billion.
