By Leman Zeynalova - Trend:
Slovenian Railways interested in cooperation with Azerbaijani Railways, Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek told Trend.
“The Slovenian Railways is interested in developing cooperation with the Azerbaijani and other railways, especially with the aim of successfully reaching the wider geographical area and obtaining passenger flows and creating better financial results,” said the minister. “The Azerbaijani Railways are invited to join the Eurail Association because this would allow passengers who wish to travel from Azerbaijan to get to know Slovenia by train and vice versa.”
Počivalšek went on to add that connectivity is an indispensable part of economic prosperity.
“Therefore, we highly support closer integration of railway administrations, as we believe that developed international rail transport has strategic importance for all countries, in our near or far neighborhood. Slovenian Railways has also been striving to become an important crossing and connecting center on the V and X corridors between SEE and NW Europe in international traffic,” he added.
