Iran’s PMO unveils volume of cargo transportation via Abadan Port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11

A total of 1,520 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Abadan port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 1,260 tons of goods were loaded and 265 tons were unloaded in this port over the reporting month.

“During the first month, 1,260 tons of cargo were exported and 71 tons were imported through the Abadan port. In addition, 55 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as, 140 tons for other purposes,” the statistics said.

So, 1,360 tons of essential products, 94 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 70 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in the Abadan port of Iran in the 1st month of the current Iranian year, the statistics said.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
