Kazakhstan's revenue from passenger air transport increases

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 5.9 billion tenge ($13.8 million) from January through April 2021, which is 2.2 times more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in Apr. 2021 amounted to 1.7 billion tenge ($4.2 million), which is 3.8 times more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 10,080 tons, which is 65.5 percent more compared to the same period of last year (3,410 tons in Apr. 2021, increase by 5.4 times year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 21.3 million ton-kilometers which is 34.3 percent more than during the same period of last year (7.5 million in Apr. 2021, an increase of 3 times).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 85.06 billion tenge ($199.6 million) from Jan. through Apr. 2021, which 32.3 percent more than during the same period of last year. April’s revenue from passenger transportation was 27.5 billion tenge ($64.5 million), which is 2.3 times more than in Apr. 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 2.5 million people, which is 50.5 percent more than during the same period of last year (666,680 passengers in Apr. 2021, up by 12.4 times).

The passenger turnover amounted to 3.8 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 21.5 percent. April’s passenger turnover was 1.03 billion (200 times more year-on-year).
