Cargo movements in Iran’s Astara port up

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 34 percent in the 4th month of the current Iranian year (June 22 through July 22, 2021), compared to the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 19,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the fourth month. Of this, 17,600 tons were loaded and 1,400 tons were unloaded.

While in the third month of the current Iranian year, a total of 14,100 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port.

About 13,400 tons of cargo were exported and 1,400 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.

Also, 4,180 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 4th month.

According to the statistics, 361 tons of metal products, 7,610 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 4th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 39 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 5,390 tons of chemicals, 1,100 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, 353 tons of container products and 4,200 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fourth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.99 million tons were loaded and 5.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 20.8 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
