Iran’s IAC sees decrease in passenger transportation via Ramsar International Airport

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 13

The number of passengers transported through Iran’s Ramsar International Airport in the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 25 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, a total of 18,632 passengers were transported via the Ramsar International Airport in 7 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 24,725.

Over 7 months, 482 flights were carried out through the airport, which is a decrease of 9 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, this figure amounted to 530 in the same period last Iranian year.

“Moreover, 169 tons of cargo were transported via the Ramsar International Airport for the reporting period. Cargo transportation decreased by 8 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. About 185 tons of cargo had been transported through the airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
