Value of goods transported by railway transport in Azerbaijan increases

The value of goods transported by railway transport in Azerbaijan exceeded $2.8 billion over the period from January through November 2021, which is 21 percent or $487.9 million more than the indicator of the similar period in 2020, the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC) told Trend.

According to the SCC, cargo transportation by railway transport during the reporting period exceeded 6.3 million tons, which is 2.34 percent, or 152.1 million tons less than during the similar period in 2020.

Export cargo transportation by railway transport over the reporting period in volume exceeded 2.8 million tons, and in value - $992.2 million (an increase of 2.3 times compared to the similar period in 2020).

Export cargo transportation by railway transport exceeded 2.8 million tons in volume and $992.2 million in value (an increase of 2.3 times compared to the same period in 2020).

Imports by means of railway transport exceeded 3.5 million tons in volume, and $1.8 billion in value (a decrease of 3.8 percent).

The value of goods transported by all modes of transport over the reporting period of 2021, amounted to $30.2 billion, including $19.8 billion worth of export, and $10.4 billion worth of import.
