A number of railway vehicles, including, railway stations and railway lines at a cost of 60.4 trillion rials (about $1.44 billion) will be put into operation in Iran on the anniversary of the Iranian Revolution (February 1 through February 11, 2022), Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
According to the report, 5.05 trillion rials (about $120 million) have been spent on the purchase and renewal of 163 freight and passenger wagons and locomotives.
In general, 150 new freight wagons at a cost of 2 trillion rials (about $47.6 million) will be put into operation in Iran's Markazi, Isfahan and Zanjan provinces.
Moreover, three new locomotives at a cost of 810 billion rials (about $19.2 million) will be put into operation in the Markazi Province.
At the same time, 400 billion rials (about $9.52 million) have been spent on the repairing of four passenger wagons in Tehran Province, as well as, 400 billion rials (about $9.52 million) - on the renewal of six locomotives in Alborz Province.
