BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. The transit of goods through Iran increased by 52 percent, in the 12th month of last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.
More than 1.17 million tons of goods were transited through Iran over the reporting month, Latifi said.
The spokesman also added that the transit of goods through Iran for the 12th month increased by 9 percent compared to the 11th month of the last Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022).
In total, 12.5 million tons of goods were transited through Iran over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022). Transit of goods via the country increased by 68 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
