Azerbaijan doubles manufacturing of machinery and equipment

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. Machinery and equipment, cars, trailers, and semi-trailers were produced in Azerbaijan in the amount of 124 million manat ($72.9 million) in 1Q2022, Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee told Trend.

According to the committee, this is more than twice, or 63.4 million manat ($37.3 million) higher than the same period in 2021.

A total of 125 tractors were produced in Azerbaijan in 1Q2022 (90 in 1Q2021) and 439 cars in 1Q2022 (408 from January through March 2021).

Azerbaijan's GDP increased by 6.8 percent in 1Q2022, compared to the same period last year - up to 30.3 billion manat ($17.8 billion).
