BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) decreased by 19 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, more than 134,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 3rd month. Of this, 118,000 tons were loaded and about 16,000 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, 118,000 tons of cargo were exported and 15,200 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

Also, 75 tons of cargo were loaded and 483 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 763 tons of cargo were loaded and 196 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 3rd month.

According to the statistics, 1,970 tons of essential products, 687 tons of metal products, 113,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,820 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 1,720 tons of chemicals, 3,650 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 41 tons of small and assorted goods, 9,400 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.8 million tons were loaded and 6.8 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
