BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. A total of 581.3 million passengers were transported in Kazakhstan by all means of transport in June 2022, which is 0.4 percent more than in June 2021, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

In turn, the volume of passengers transported over the period from January through June 2022 amounted to 3.3 billion people, which is 12.9 percent more year-on-year compared to 2.9 billion over last year.

Thus, the majority of the passengers were transported to Kazakhstan’s Almaty city. The number of passengers transported in the city amounted to 154.8 million people in June and 887.7 million people over the reporting period of 2022, which is 3.3 percent less and 9.7 percent more than during the same period last year, respectively.

Almaty city is followed by the Kostanay region with 56.7 million people transported in June 2022 (an increase of 1.6 percent compared to June 2021). The number of passengers transported in the region during the reporting period amounted to 310.1 million people, which compared to 276.4 million during the same period last year, indicates a 12.2-percent increase.

Pavlodar region takes third place country-wide by the passengers transported in June 2022 (46.5 million people, up by 1.6 percent). The number of passengers transported in the region over the period from January through May 2022 amounted to 267.4 million, which is 7.9 percent more than during the same period last year (247.9 million people).

The least passenger volume was recorded in the Mangystau region. The transported passenger volume stood at 2.9 million in June 2022, which is 14.8 percent more than in June 2021.

The volume of passengers transported over six months of 2022 was 16.9 million, which is 27.4 percent more year-on-year.
