BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 27. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), decreased by 27 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, over 385,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 8th month. Of this, about 176,000 tons were loaded and over 209,000 tons were unloaded.

More than 173,000 tons of cargo were exported and 95,900 were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

At the same time, 113,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 2,600 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 8th month.

In overall, approximately 76,700 tons of essential products, over 173,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,690 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 2,000 tons of chemicals, 377 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 52 tons of small and assorted products, 18,500 tons of container products and more than 113,000 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
