Volume of loaded/unloaded cargo at Iran’s Khorramshahr port skyrockets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 12. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran's Khorramshahr port in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 89.4 percent for the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.

Overall, 301,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the port during the 2nd month. Of this, more than 282,000 tons were loaded and 18,800 tons were unloaded.

Also, more than 281,000 tons of cargo were exported and 18,400 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port for the reporting month.

At the same time, 166 tons of cargo were unloaded and 270 tons were unloaded at this port for transit, while 762 tons of cargo were loaded and 19 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 2nd month.

Some 4,540 tons of essential products, 50,300 tons of metal products, over 226,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,770 tons of equipment were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 8 tons of chemicals, 2,660 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, and 14,300 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In total, 11.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.01 million tons were loaded and 4.66 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
