ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 31. The total number of TEU containers transported between the Baku International Sea Trade Port (Azerbaijan) and the Turkmenbashi International Seaport for the period from January through June of this year reached 2,362 units, Trend reports.
According to the data of the Marine Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan, in the first half of this year, 2.9 times more TEU containers were transported compared to the same period in 2022.
Of the total volume of cargo transportation, Turkmen imports account for 25 percent of cargo, exports 34 percent, and transit 41 percent.
The total volume of cargo transportation by Marine Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan vessels for the period from January through June of this year increased by 31.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 1.15 million tons.
During the corresponding period, cargo turnover amounted to 476.838 million ton-kilometers, which is 28.7 percent more than in the same period in 2022.
