Int’l cargo traffic via Iranian local airports rises

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 23. The volume of cargo transported through Iranian airports to international directions rose by 8.2 percent during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared with the same time last year, Trend reports.

More than 37,000 tons of cargo were transported via the country’s airports to international destinations in 7 months, according to the data from Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC).

Meanwhile, the figure almost reached 35,000 tons in the same period as last Iranian year.

There are 54 civil active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
