The Dutch Company Van Oord proposed for an artificial island in the Caspian Sea near the Avaz Sea Resort of Turkmenistan, the local media reported, referring to the company.
"We have proposed a project on an artificial island in the Caspian Sea on the coast of Avaza. The island may have contours of the Turkmen national emblem, with a further possible construction of buildings", Van Oord Branch Manager Johannes Hafkenscheid said in an interview with the Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper.
Van Oord is an international contracting organization engaged in the dredging and marine works. The company is represented on the Turkmen market for four years. In particular, the company works on a contract for the installation and maintenance of the signal buoys along the shipping channel national tourist zone "Avaza" made.
Hafkenscheid said "the world's population increases, many countries need more space for housing, trade, production and recreation. And we are pleased that our company today has become a party to all of the tremendous changes in the construction industry, which occur in Turkmenistan ".
The tourism industry plays a special role in the country's strategic plans. The Avaza resort can be an example for this. Tax and customs privileges are granted to investors, firms, and companies.
Turkmenistan has announced a series of international tenders for constructing facilities and structures designed for tourism, sports, recreation, health, and other public purposes.
According to some official figures, total investments made have already reached $1.5 billion.
Today a new airport, highway, gas turbine electric power station, water desalinating, and water treatment facilities are all being used to construct Aqua parks, yacht clubs, an artificial navigable river, and other facilities, which will be constructed during the second part of the resort's construction. Other projects include the construction of an oceanarium, an indoor ski resort, a cycle track, and a casino city.
