President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan, chief the foreign policy department of the President’s Office Aizada Subakozhoeva told journalists, Kabar reports.

"President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Zheenbekov will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on Dec. 25-26, at the invitation of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Within the framework of the visit it is planned to hold meetings in narrow and extended formats. The leaders of the two countries will discuss issues of bilateral cooperation and cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union," she said.

She recalled that on Nov. 30, Zheenbekov met with Nazarbayev in Minsk. As a result of that meeting, a road map was signed between the two governments on trade and economic cooperation, as well as in the field of customs administration, taxation, phytosanitary and veterinary control.

"I think that following the talks, the leaders of the two countries will give an impetus to the effective implementation of this road map and other issues of bilateral cooperation," Subakozhoeva said.

She also added that the Kyrgyz side is positively inclined to further strengthen relations based on the principles of equality and mutual respect.

"Following the meeting, important documents are expected to be signed: an agreement on the regime of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, an agreement on the demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border," Subakozhoeva added.

She said that Zheenbekov also will meet with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

"After Astana, the President of Kyrgyzstan, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, will make a working visit to Moscow, where the head of the CIS states take part in an informal meeting. An exchange of views on topical issues of international and regional policy is expected," Subakozhoeva said.
