ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 22. Kazakhstan and Tajikistan will sign a document on allied relations, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during limited-format talks with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Trend reports.
“Relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are progressing successfully across nearly all areas. We are steadfast allies and value Tajikistan's support. However, we must continue advancing. The purpose of this visit is to significantly boost our cooperation. Today, we will sign the Treaty on Allied Relations, a document of historical significance. I believe this will lead to a productive exchange of views on all matters of mutual interest,” Tokayev stated.
President Rahmon expressed optimism that the talks would invigorate the relationship between the two countries.
“Our relations are growing dynamically in political, trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian, and security dimensions. I am ready to discuss the state and future of our cooperation, as well as international and regional issues,” the Tajik president said.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is on a two-day visit to Tajikistan during which he will hold talks and sign several agreements.
