Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation discussed in Tashkent

Kazakh ambassador to Uzbekistan Boribai Zheksembin and the leadership of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry discussed current issues of multi-aspect Uzbek-Kazakh relations as well as prospects of the further cooperation in political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres on Friday, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said today.

The heads of both states have repeatedly said Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have all opportunities for efficient cooperation in a wide range of issues. A solid legal base consisting of about 140 signed documents has been established and Economic Cooperation Strategy to 2016 operates.

Interaction within international and regional organizations, as well as positive dynamics of mutual trade and economic cooperation is evidence of the progressive development of the Kazakh-Uzbek relations.

Currently in Tashkent construction of a new Kazakh embassy is underway, it is planned to erect a monument to the outstanding Kazakh poet and philosopher Abai Kunanbaev, and this event will be timed to the opening of the new embassy building.

Turnover between the both countries exceeded $2 billion as for 11 months of 2011.
