BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 11. Kazakhstan may offer Turkish investors five existing projects in the field of precious and non-ferrous metals exploration, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the Kazakh-Turkish business forum in Ankara, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan's Presidential Press Service.

According to the president, the agro-industrial sector is another key area of mutual cooperation.

“We're ready to support projects of agricultural product processing. Kazakhstan ranks second worldwide in terms of arable land (hectares per person) and fifth in terms of pasture resources. The country is one of the ten largest producers of food grain and flour. We have also boosted oilseed exports to over one million tons. Over the past five years, Kazakhstan has expanded its flaxseed cultivation by 2.5 times (to 1.5 million hectares) and has become one of the world's leading exporters of flax seeds. If earlier Turkey purchased up to 10,000 tons of flax per year, then within only two months of 2022, purchases amounted to nearly 8,000 tons (growth by 6 times). We invite you to open joint ventures in Kazakhstan for processing flax and other oilseeds,” Tokayev said.
