BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 13. Some 126,900 vehicles were registered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan in January 2023, Trend reports, citing the Bureau of National Statistics of Kazakhstan.

This constitutes an increase of 27.3 percent in year-on-year terms of vehicles purchased on the primary and secondary market.

The number of passenger vehicles owned by private and business entities increased by 25.9 percent, the number of trucks increased by 39.5 percent, while a twofold increase was registered in the number of buses registered.

The overall number of vehicles in the country reached 4.51 million as of February 1, 2023, a 4.87 percent increase compared to 4.3 million vehicles a year prior. Some 87.9 percent of vehicles are passenger vehicles, trucks accounted for 10 percent of the overall share, while the percentage of buses reached 2.1 percent.

Earlier, the National Bureau of Statistics revealed that the age of 51 percent of vehicles in Kazakhstan exceeds 20 years, while 21 percent of vehicles are between 10–20 years of age. Some 14 percent of the vehicles are aged from 7 to 10 years, while the percentage of cars manufactured from 3 to 7 years ago equals 6 percent.
