BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 7. The Shymkent Oil Refinery in Sayramskiy region of Kazakhstan has completed its planned preventive maintenance work ahead of schedule on April 7, Trend reports with reference to KazMunayGas.

According to the company, the works were originally scheduled to last from March 15 to April 8, but the refinery completed them early and has already begun producing products for the domestic market.

The refinery plans to process 366,000 tons of crude oil and produce 110,100 tons of gasoline, 114,800 tons of diesel fuel, 15,100 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, 19,300 tons of aviation fuel, and 77,600 tons of fuel oil in April this year.

KazMunayGas noted that all repair work was completed on time, some earlier than expected.

The repairs included replacing, restoring, and adjusting equipment for various units, involving 22 contracting organizations and 1,305 specialists.

The work aimed to ensure the refinery's equipment is functioning properly and met the requirements of the Civil Defense Law.

The Shymkent Oil Refinery processed a record 6.2 million tons of crude oil in 2022, and there are plans to expand the plant's production capacity and increase the processing volume to 12 million tons per year.
