BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 1. A total of 54.9 billion tenge ($121.7 million) from the state budget will be allocated for the support of agriculture sector in Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
The following statement was made by a Head of the Department of Agriculture and Land Relations of the region Timur Bisimbayev during the briefing.
According to Bisimbayev, 40.5 billion tenge ($89.8 million) would be allocated as subsidies and 18.9 billion tenge ($41.9 million) as loans.
Subsidies were allocated in the following areas:
Horticulture, including fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, priority crops -10.5 billion tenge ($23.2 million);
Animal husbandry, including livestock breeding, livestock products, as well as for other related areas -7.5 billion tenge ($16.6 million);
Investment subsidies, interest rate subsidies, and for processing of agricultural products - 22.5 billion tenge ($49.8 million).
As Bisimbayev noted, the farmers of the region have been receiving funding under the new subsidizing information system since the beginning of 2023.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture is already accepting applications for subsidizing livestock, and payment has been made since February.
Furthermore, some 474 applications of Kostanay agricultural enterprises in the amount of 31.1 billion tenge ($68.9 million) were financed under lending programs for spring field work through Agrarian Credit Corporation.
