BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. The current portfolio of projects of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Kazakhstan exceeds 2.9 billion euros, which is calculated for the implementation of 113 active portfolio projects, Trend reports.
According to the bank, this substantial investment supports the implementation of 113 active projects across various sectors. Of particular note is the bank's strong emphasis on sustainable infrastructure, which accounts for 72 percent of the overall portfolio. This represents an equivalent of 2.08 billion euros dedicated to projects that promote environmentally friendly and resilient infrastructure development.
The industry, commerce, and agribusiness sectors also benefit significantly from EBRD's investments, with projects worth approximately 706 million euros, making up around 24 percent of the portfolio.
In addition to infrastructure and industry, the EBRD also supports the financial sector, with investments in financial institutions comprising 4 percent of the portfolio, amounting to 111 million euros.
Overall, EBRD invested over 9.9 billion euros in 306 projects during the years of its operations in the country.
