ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 4. Kazakhstan's Atyrau Oil Refinery tanks contain 26,000 tons of gasoline, 34,000 tons of diesel fuel, 1,500 tons of liquefied petroleum gas, and 6,000 tons of aviation kerosene, Dauletzhan Khasanov, Deputy Chairman of Management Board at KazMunayGas, said at the government meeting, Trend reports.
"These volumes are sufficient for seven days of stable shipments," he said.
Immediately after the resumption of electricity supply on the night of July 3rd, the plant resumed shipments of petroleum products from existing stocks, Khasanov noted.
Overall, according to the chairman, the country has sufficient reserves of RON-92 gasoline and diesel fuel to meet monthly consumption, and RON-95 gasoline for two weeks of consumption.
Even with the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant undergoing scheduled maintenance until July 20th and the partial shutdown of the Shymkent Oil Refinery on July 3rd for catalytic reforming works, the shipment of petroleum products from the plants continues, Khasanov said.
"As the electricity supply stabilizes from external grids, the technological units of the plant are being gradually brought back to a stable mode. By the end of the week, the ANPZ plans to return to its previous production volumes of petroleum products," he added.
Meanwhile, on July 3, the power unit No. 1 with a load of 130 MW at the thermal power station of MAEK LLP experienced an unexpected shutdown. As a result, energy supply restrictions were implemented in the western regions of the country, affecting both businesses and residential areas. In addition, oil production has been temporarily halted at the fields of Ozenmunaygaz JSC, Mangistaumunaygaz JSC, Karazhanbasmunay JSC, and Embamunaygaz JSC in the Mangystau and Atyrau regions of Kazakhstan.
