Sizeable part of Austrian oil imported from Kazakhstan - Austrian MFA

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7. There is a long-standing and highly appreciated energy partnership between Austria and Kazakhstan, the Austrian Foreign Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, a sizeable part of Austrian oil imports comes from Kazakhstan. "Austria is keen to continue this partnership and energy cooperation with Kazakhstan," the ministry added.

Furthermore, the Austrian Foreign Ministry also noted collaboration between the countries in the field of transportation.

"Regarding the area of transport, there are, for instance, good contacts between Austrian and Kazakh Railways," said the ministry.

The ministry noted that both countries share a mutual interest and recognize the substantial potential for further collaboration in bolstering cooperation along the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Route - TITR).

In addition to the fruitful energy and transport cooperation, the trade volume between Kazakhstan and Austria reached $202.7 million in 2022. Kazakhstan's exports amounted to $4.7 million, while imports from Austria accounted for $198 million.
