BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 20. Russia's Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation is ready for all possible ways of implementing the nuclear power plant project that best align with the interests of the Kazakh side, a source at Rosatom told Trend.

"Russia and Kazakhstan have a long history of trade and economic relations. We have consistently developed partnerships in various fields, including joint uranium mining and enrichment, fuel supply for research reactors, nuclear research technologies, and much more," said the source.

According to Rosatom, the company is interested in further advancing mutually beneficial cooperation. One of the promising areas for potential collaboration is the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan.

"The construction of a nuclear power plant could become the cornerstone of our strategic partnership for decades to come. We are ready for all possible ways of implementing the nuclear power plant project that best align with the interests of the Kazakh side," said Rosatom.

Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation is a diversified holding company that combines assets in the energy sector, engineering, construction, logistics, medicine, and digital technologies. In its portfolio of international orders, Rosatom currently has 33 units in 10 countries, with 22 units under construction in 7 countries.

Furthermore, Rosatom is the only company in the world that possesses expertise in the entire technological chain of the nuclear fuel cycle, from natural uranium extraction to the final stage of the life cycle of nuclear facilities. When constructing nuclear power plants, Rosatom always focuses on selecting technologies that are the most suitable both technically and economically for the specific customer. Meanwhile, in accordance with the projected electricity balance, Kazakhstan plans to build its first nuclear power plant with a capacity of up to 2.8 gigawatts. In addition to Rosatom, France has also expressed interest to assist Kazakhstan with such an ambitious goal.
