ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 15. Trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and Belarus amounted to $173.9 million from January through September 2023, said Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Abulkhair Tamabek, Trend reports.

He made the remark during the fourth meeting of the joint Kazakh-Belarusian working group to develop promising areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture.

As he pointed out, the import of Belarusian goods vastly outnumbers the export of Kazakh items in the trade turnover structure.

As a result, the country is interested in developing mutually beneficial supplies of its products to the Belarusian market, as well as collaboration in the fields of variety testing and plant legal protection, as well as cooperative work in agricultural science and education.

At the same time, the parties stated their willingness to participate in the realization of collaborative projects for the development of dairy complexes on Kazakhstani territory.

Furthermore, Tamabek stated that there is enormous potential for the further expansion of international cooperation.

Following the meeting, Kazakhstan and Belarus signed a protocol.

Meanwhile, trade turnover between the countries in 2022 increased and amounted to $1.1 billion. Positive dynamics have also developed over the six months of this year; the growth in trade turnover between the countries amounted to 1.5 percent ($456 million).
