ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 16. The volume of investments in fixed capital in Kazakhstan amounted to 790.8 billion tenge (about $1.76 billion) in January 2024, Trend reports.

According to figures from the country's Bureau of National Statistics, this is an increase of 0.6 percent compared to January 2023.

Significant growth was noted in the Zhetisu region (2.1 times), the Ulytau region (52.3 percent), the Jhambyl region (40.4 percent), the Almaty region (34.4 percent), the Kyzylorda region (32.4 percent), and the Turkestan region (30.4 percent).

At the same time, a significant share of investments is occupied by the Atyrau region (24.7 percent).

The predominant sources of investment financing remain the own funds of business entities, whose volume in January 2024 amounted to 653.3 billion tenge (about $1.46 billion), or 82.6 percent of the total volume.

Budget funds amounted to 2.8 percent of the total investment in fixed capital, while compared to January 2023, they increased by 7.3 percent.

The share of the banking sector in financing the real sector of the economy in the total volume of investments in fixed capital is 1.6 percent.

In addition, the main share of investments in fixed capital in January 2024 falls on industry (52.3 percent), including mining and quarrying (37 percent), the manufacturing industry (11.7 percent), real estate transactions (18.2 percent), transport and warehousing (15.5 percent), and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (3.3 percent).
