ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 14. Kazakhstan plans to implement railway projects for the development of the Russia-China, Central Asia transit corridor, Trend reports.
This is provided for by the "Program for the Development of Railway Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2029," which was submitted for public discussion by the Ministry of Transport.
According to the program, as part of the development of the transit corridor, it is necessary to build second tracks on the sections Pavlodar - Kurkamys, Aksu - Zhana-Semey, Zhana-Semey - Aktogay.
At the same time, the program provides for the introduction of automatic blocking on the Aksu - Zhana-Semey, Zhana-Semey - Aktogay, Zhana-Semey - Lokot sections, as well as the development of 41 separate points on the Pavlodar - Zhana-Semey - Aktogay section.
It is expected that the implementation of these measures will increase capacity by 3 times, as well as increase the possibility of passing trains by 3 times.
To date, 13 international transport corridors have been formed and are in operation in Kazakhstan, including 5 railways and 8 roads.
Furthermore, about $30 billion has been invested in the transport and logistics infrastructure of Kazakhstan over the past 10 years.
Moreover, in the next five years, at least 40 billion euros will be needed to implement major infrastructure projects in the field of transportation in Kazakhstan.
