ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 24. Kazakhstan allocates 114.4 billion tenge ($257.3 million) for 134 projects and plans to repair more than 579 km of roads in the West Kazakhstan region, the head of the Department of Passenger Transport and Roads of the West Kazakhstan region, Bauyrzhan Aitmagambetov, told reporters, Trend reports.
“A total of 10 railway wagons are involved. Also, taking into account the necessary volume of bitumen of 38,000 tons this year, it is necessary to provide about 4,500–5,000 tons of bitumen every month from May through October. Currently, more than 8,600 tons of bitumen have been procured. Work on the development of materials continues," Bauyrzhan Aitmagambetov said.
According to him, the country plans to carry out repair work on 10 highways of regional importance in 2024. To date, work has begun on 3 objects of reconstruction and 1 object of capital repair. The repair work on four objects is planned to start by the end of May. A contract for another object is also being developed.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan plans to build, repair, or reconstruct a record 12,000 kilometers of roads in the current road construction season.
Thus, the repair, construction, and reconstruction of 5,300 kilometers of roads in the republican network and 4,200 kilometers of local roads will continue.
At the same time, the Ministry is implementing a new large-scale program for the average repair of roads with structural strengthening. Thus, priority is given to roads where repair work has not been carried out since their construction. This is 2,500 kilometers of additional transport links throughout the country.
