(gazeta.kz) - The European Commission and Kazakhstan are going to sign a memorandum on mutual understanding in energy. Benita Ferrero-Waldner, EC Commissioner for External Relations and the European Neighbourhood Policy, made such statement at a meeting with Nurtai Abykayev, Chairman of the Senate of RK, Thursday, Kazakhstan Today correspondent reports.
"I hope that we will continue our co-operation in energy when the memorandum on mutual understanding in energy is signed by the Presidents of the European Commission and Kazakhstan during the forthcoming visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, to Brussels," - she has observed.
"Central Asia in general and Kazakhstan in particular are key regions for the European Union with regard to energy issues. The strengthening and extension of the Kazakhstani energy transportation is one of our main priorities," - the EC Commissioner has stressed, reports Trend.
