Perinatal center will be built in the south of Kyrgyzstan, as Minister of Health Sabyr Zhumabekov said at the session on the results of health facilities operation 2010 and tasks 2011, 24.kg reported.
According to him, start of construction of Southern Perinatal Center in Osh was scheduled for 2011. According to the Ministry of Health, Osh, Batken and Jalal-Abad cities have the highest rate of maternal and child mortality.
Nowadays, there is only one perinatal center in the republic, which is located in Bishkek. In year 2011 another center will be opened here. There is agreement with German Bank for Reconstruction and Development about construction of perinatal center under National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare. The bank will allocate €9.5 million.
