BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. The volume of loan portfolio of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector clients (excluding loans granted to banks and other financial and credit organizations) amounted to 204.6 billion soms ($2.3 billion) as of February 28, Trend reports citing the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.
The figure increased by 0.3 percent from December 31, 2022.
Allocations in the banking field by sector:
Industrial sector – 13.2 billion soms ($151 million), a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Agriculture sector – 36.1 billion soms ($413.1 million), a decrease 2.5 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Trade – 57.1 billion soms ($653.5 million), an increase of 1.6 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Construction – 12.5 billion soms ($143 million), a decrease of 2.9 percent compared to December 31, 2022;;
Mortgage – 24.6 billion soms ($281.5 million), an increase of 0.8 percent compared to December 31, 2022;;
Consumer loans – 34 billion soms ($389.1 million), an increase of 2.9 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
Other loans – 27.1 billion soms ($310 million), an increase of 1.2 percent compared to December 31, 2022;
The share of classified credits in Kyrgyz commercial banks amounted to 13 percent of 26.5 billion soms ($303.2 million), increasing over 12.8 percent or 26.1 billion soms ($298 million) in the end of 2022.
The volume of overdue loans amounted to 5.9 billion soms ($67.5 million), or 2.9 percent of the loan portfolio of the banking system, which is 400 million soms ($4.5 million) or 7.6 percent more than in the beginning of the year.
