BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, November 15. Kyrgyzstan imported 122,458 passenger cars from January through September 2023, which is an increase of 4.8 times compared to the same period in 2022 (25,279 cars), Trend reports.
According to data from Kyrgyzstan's National Statistical Committee, the total value was $1.667 billion, a 6.1-fold increase over the similar period in 2022 ($271.399 million).
So far this year, the most passenger automobiles have been imported from South Korea - 38,375 vehicles valued at $321.136 million.
Furthermore, 32,573 cars for $516.331 million were imported from China, while 15,000 cars worth $153.896 million were imported from the United States.
Kyrgyzstan also imported vehicles from Russia, Japan, Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, and Canada, in addition to these three countries.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover totaled $10.790 billion from January through September 2023, which is an increase of 26.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022.
Exports amounted to $2.108 billion, increasing 49.6 percent compared to the first nine months of 2022. Imports rose by 21.6 percent compared to the same period in 2022, reaching $8.681 billion.
