BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 26. Kyrgyzstan's public debt reached $6.059 billion, as of October 31, 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan, the external debt stood at $4.482 billion, while the internal debt amounted to $1.518 billion. As of the end of October, the state debt accounted for 57.82 percent of the GDP.
Within a month, the total debt increased by $13.58 million. The external debt decreased by $4.15 million, whereas the internal debt surged by $17.72 million.
Multilateral loans constitute over half (52.4 percent) of Kyrgyzstan's external debt, totaling $2.347 billion. Additionally, the country owes $2.075 billion (46.3 percent of the external debt) through bilateral concessional loans. Of this, 38.1 percent of the country's external debt is owed to the Export-Import Bank of China, amounting to $1.705 billion as of October 31, 2023.
Kyrgyzstan's total state debt amounted to $5.578 billion, as of the end of 2022. The external debt reached $4.479 billion and the internal debt amounted to $1.098 billion.
