Tajikistan has considered a Russian variant of the draft agreement on the 201st Russian military base's staying in the country after 2014 as being acceptable, Russian ground forces commander, Colonel-General Vladimir Chirkin told media today, RIA Novosti reported.
"The Tajik side considered a draft agreement between Russia and Tajikistan which fixes the stay of the 201st military base for 49 years in the Republic of Tajikistan as being acceptable," he added. "The leadership of the republic said that it intends to fully contribute to the acceleration of its interagency coordination."
He clarified that it is proposed in the draft agreement to maintain the existing order of the Russian military base's activity in Tajikistan free of charge.
