Tajikistan notes increase in assets of credit financial institutions

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 15. The total assets of credit financial institutions in Tajikistan amounted to 34.761 billion somoni ($3.2 billion) as of September 30, 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the National Bank of Tajikistan reveals an increase of 8.112 billion somoni ($751 million) or 30.4 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

Simultaneously, credit financial institution loans were 16.786 billion somoni ($1.5 billion) as of September 30, 2023, an increase of 3.851 billion somoni ($356 million) or 29.8 percent over the same period in 2022. This growth was mostly due to increased lending to people, the commercial sector, and small and medium-sized businesses.

Tajikistan had 63 credit financial organizations as of September 30, 2023, including 14 regular banks, 1 Islamic bank, 1 non-bank credit organization, 19 microcredit deposit organizations, 3 microcredit organizations, and 25 microcredit funds.
