Priority issues to be discussed within Turkmen President’s visit to Turkey

A report was heard at the Turkmen governmental meeting to prepare Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s official visit to Turkey, scheduled for next week, national TV channel Altyn Asyr said today.

A report was heard at the Turkmen governmental meeting to prepare Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Turkey, scheduled for next week, national TV channel Altyn Asyr said today.

The bilateral talks at the top level will be held within the visit. The agenda includes the priority issues of interstate relations.

It is also planned to open the "Turkmenistan" park in Ankara with the monument to the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi during the visit.

It is planned to hold a gala concert of artists of both countries within the cultural program. It will become the new symbol of unbreakable friendship and brotherhood between the Turkmen and Turkish peoples.

More than 600 registered Turkish companies operate in such priority areas of Turkmen economy as trade and investment, construction, energy, textile and processing industries, and others.

Turkish companies master over 1,270 investment projects. More than 1,200 projects are worth over $ 15 billion and 26 projects worth over 2 billion euros, as well as 26 projects worth over 56 billion manat and other projects.

The volume of mutual trade in 2011 exceeded $ 3 billion. The imports of goods from Turkey are widely diversified and represented by goods for industrial purposes.
Turkmenistan exports energy resources to Turkey.

The intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish commission for economic cooperation has been operating since 2008.

Ankara expressed interest in the delivery of Caspian energy resources to Europe through the Caspian Sea and Turkey. Ashgabat also wants to involve Turkish companies for the construction of Avaza resort in the Caspian Sea.
