Presidents of Turkmenistan and Turkey, Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov and Abdullah Gul during a telephone conversation discussed the most important aspects of intergovernmental cooperation, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.
The conversation took place at the initiative of the Turkmen side, which highly assessed the implementation of the agreements reached at the government level.
"Confirming mutual desire to make long-term cooperation more dynamic, presidents of Turkmenistan and Turkey expressed their confidence in the successful continuation of fruitful partnership built on a long-term, mutually beneficial basis," the government report says.
Berdimuhammadov congratulated his Turkish counterpart on the Republic Day and Eid al-Adha. "On this occasion, the Turkmen leader also congratulated Abdullah Gul on his birthday and wished him good health, happiness and success in his work on the important state post."
President of Turkey, in turn, addressed his best wishes to Berdimuhammadov and to the Turkmen people on the occasion of the significant date - the 21st anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and Eid al-Adha.
Turkish companies implement more than 1,270 investment projects in Turkmenistan. They include more than 1200 projects worth more than $15 billion and 26 projects worth over two billion euros, 26 projects worth over 56 billion manat and other projects.
Ankara has expressed interest in the delivery of the Caspian energy to Europe through the Caspian Sea and Turkey. Ashgabat also wants to involve Turkish companies in the construction of the Caspian Sea resort Avaza.
